Students earning a Bachelor in Health Sciences are required to enroll in HLSC 494 Health Sciences Internship. This course is completed during their final semester of the graduating year. It is a six-credit hour course, which equates to 20-contact hours per week, for the 16 week semester, in an internship setting.
Students are responsible for finding their own internship site. We make every effort to assist and guide the process, and we share all requests from community partners for internship placements. Additionally, we have contracts with existing internship sites. However, for an internship experience to be of most benefit, students are required to align their interests, strengths, future career plans, or graduate schools plans, with their internship site. Careful planning and consideration in researching and establishing an internship site helps prepare students for early success upon graduation.
Additional capstone fees will be applied to your student account.
In order to enroll in HLSC 494 Health Sciences Internship, students must meet specific criteria.
Academic credit will not be awarded for previous work done in an unregistered internship or part-time job.
