You should also request to attend an Information Session at the School of Nursing & Health Studies to learn more about the admission requirements. Visit the BSN Pre-Licensure program page for more information.
Additional notes about the structure of the Pre-licensure BSN program:
- The UMKC School of Nursing and Health Studies Pre-licensure BSN program uses a 1+3 format, which calls for students to complete one year of general education followed by three years of nursing courses with general education courses mixed in. This means students receive earlier nursing experience than many traditional 2+2 programs.
- We highly recommend that interested students in BSN programs attend an information session to learn the program specifics. Information sessions for the Pre-licensure BSN program are held monthly at the Health Sciences Building. Please call 816-235-1700 for more information.
- Students applying to the BSN program should visit the Transfer Equivalencies site to be certain that you take the correct equivalent courses.
