BSN-DNP CRNA

The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthesia (CRNA) track operated by University Health Truman Medical Center School of Nurse Anesthesia in collaboration with the UMKC School of Nursing and Health Studies prepares students for advanced practice nursing in the delivery of all forms of anesthesia care throughout the lifespan.

CRNAs provide high-quality healthcare services in a wide range of settings including practice in hospital operating rooms, labor and delivery suites and outpatient centers. The core curriculum provides a solid foundation in the basic sciences, the use of evidence-based practice guidelines and theory as a basis for the practice of anesthesia. Student clinical experiences are directly supervised in a variety of hospitals and outpatient-based settings.

UMKC School of Nursing and Health Studies is affiliated with University Health Truman Medical Center School of Nurse AnesthesiaStudents receive a Certificate in Nurse Anesthesia from University Health Truman Medical Center and a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from UMKC School of Nursing and Health Studies.

Upon program completion you will be able to take the national certification exam to be a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist from the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
