Eileen Amari-Vaught joined the UMKC School of Nursing and Health Studies faculty in fall, 2014. Between 2007 and 2019, she worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner at safety net clinics in Wyandotte County, KS and Overland Park, KS. Dr. Amari-Vaught currently practices as a Family Nurse Practitioner at the Utah Valley University Student Health Center and Revere Health Urgent Care in the State of Utah. She volunteers as a Nurse Practitioner at the Volunteer Care Clinic in Provo, Utah. Eileen received a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Philosophy at the University of Scranton in 1991, a Ph.D. in Philosophy and Medical Ethics from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1997and a BSN and MSN from University of Kansas School of Nursing in 2007. She has taught Ethics and Philosophy courses in various departments on the UMKC campus since 1999.
