Nurse Advocacy Day in Jefferson City, MO

On February 19, 2014, around 650 registered nurses (RNs) and nursing students from across Missouri attended the 28th Annual Missouri Nurses Association (MONA) Nurse Advocacy Day “Legislative Advocacy: The Who, What, Why & How Nurses Should Be Involved” at the State Capitol. Nurse Advocacy Day is intended to increase awareness of the political process for all nurses and nursing students.

Twenty UMKC Missouri Nursing Students’ Association (MONSA) members attended this event! They were given the opportunity to participate in the day’s activities at the State Capital. The highly motivated students visited with their elected Representatives and Senators and observed a special committee hearing for HB 1491.
