Making an Impact

Vanessa Mendoza, University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Nursing and Health Sciences and Bluford Healthcare Leadership Institute (BHLI) Scholar, served as a panelist at the Future Women’s Leadership Forum sponsored by Junior Achievement of Greater Kansas City on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at the Kauffman  Conference Center.

The program is for at-risk high school girls who attend one of Junior Achievements’ partner high schools – Frontier STEM High School, Frontier School of Excellence, Wyandotte High School, and Northeast High School.

Junior Achievement reached out to the Bluford Institute for recommendation for a successful scholar pursuing her education and career that young girls could relate to and make the connection to for the next steps in their education and career aspirations.  Vanessa received high praise for her performance on the panel from both the high school girls in attendance and the leadership of Junior Achievement who coordinated the event.
