Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program (ACPNP) Collaborative Program: University of Missouri – Kansas City (UMKC), University of Iowa, and University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC)
University of Missouri Kansas City (UMKC) School of Nursing and Health Studies (SONHS) Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (ACPNP) Program is engaged in a Collaborative with the nursing programs from the University of Iowa, and the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). The expertise of faculty will provide the needed context to frame the essential content and clinical experiences related to management of the acute care pediatric clients. All theory course work is taken online with expert faculty and all clinical practicum arrangements are the responsibility of these faculty at the home institution.
This innovative ACPNP Collaborative allows all institutions to provide a robust curriculum to students while effectively capitalizing on available ACPNP faculty resources at UMKC to meet the needs for expanding clinical roles across the Midwest. Students are admitted to this program at their home institution of UMKC and complete courses required for the major at the appropriate institution with permission of the advisor at the home institution. The first cohort of UMKC students starts Fall 2017, and admissions for the second cohort are being accepted now!
