Patricia (Pat) Stilen, LCSW is a Project Director within the Collaborative for Excellence in Behavioral Health Research and Practice at the University of Missouri-Kansas City’s School of Nursing and Health Studies. Within The Collaborative, Stilen serves as Principal Investigator/Director of Mid-America Addiction Technology Transfer Center funded through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). Stilen provides leadership in grant development and is responsible for developing long-range workforce development initiatives in HHS Region 7 (Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, & Nebraska). Prior to 1999, Stilen worked as a clinical social worker; directed substance use and mental health disorder treatment services; and developed continuing education and college coursework for public and private organizations, including managed health care systems. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from University of Nebraska-Omaha.
